Project Overview

The City has been awarded grant funding to design and install bicycle lane and pedestrian crosswalk improvements in areas of downtown Bremerton between the ferry terminal and 6th Street.

Needs & Benefits

Improvements to pathways for bicycle and pedestrian traffic downtown around the ferry terminal are needed to improve safety and promote walkability.

Project Status

The City is currently making adjustments to the scope of work and will re-advertise this project in the 2nd quarter of 2021.

End Result

Bicycle lane design and improvements on Washington Avenue, from the ferry terminal to 6th Street.

Design and installation of a westbound bicycle lane on Burwell Street, from Washington Avenue to Pacific Avenue.

Design and installation of bicycle lane improvements on Pacific Avenue, from Burwell Street to the ferry terminal.

Installation of lighting improvements on pedestrian crosswalks between 2nd Street and Pacific Avenue, as well as 1st Street and Pacific Avenue.

Timeline

Design: 2019 – 2021

Construction: Summer 2021

Funding

Washington Transportation Improvement Board Complete Streets Award = $200,000

City Funding (Transportation Capital Project Fund) = $400,000
