EPA Brownfields Open House
Thursday, January 25, 2018
The City of Bremerton was recently awarded $300,000 of grant funding by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to study four specific areas for revitalization (Wheaton Way, Callow Avenue, Anderson Cove and the Downtown Core). The intent of this grant is to facilitate economic redevelopment of contaminated (real or perceived) and underutilized properties. We are seeking public input to help guide us in the process to determine which sites in any of these four areas would meet the most desirable outcomes for our community.
We are kicking off the process with an Open House!
Date: January 25, 2018
Time: 5:30 PM
Place: Norm Dicks Government Center, 1st floor meeting chambers
Here is what we will be discussing:
• The impacts of brownfield sites on our neighborhoods and how to transform them into community assets
• Eligible uses of grant funds for property owners and stakeholders
• How sites are prioritized for revitalization
• Redevelopment strategy and desired project outcomes
• Community involvement opportunities
• Next Steps
Learn more about the brownfield’s redevelopment grant project on the Brownfields Revitalization webpage.
