On March 6, 2018, Bremerton officers responded to a hit and run collision at Burwell Street and Chester Avenue. An Officer observed the collision which was caused by a speeding vehicle eastbound on Burwell Street. The speeding vehicle rear-ended a vehicle in the left lane which pushed that vehicle into three other vehicles. The causing vehicle then changed lanes to the right lane which was closed by construction, ran over the construction barrels and continued at a high rate of speed. As the driver of the suspect vehicle was fleeing the area, the driver struck three more vehicles and then struck a tree at Burwell Street and Washington Avenue, before fleeing on foot. The driver left behind a female passenger who was injured and transported to the hospital. Two other people were injured in the collisions as well.The suspect was described as a black male, with long dreads past his shoulders and less than 6 feet tall. He was last seen running from the scene of the last collision. The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old, David Knox. Knox has a history of violence and gun-related crimes. Knox is wanted for Felony Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, Driving with a Suspended License and Reckless Driving. Anyone with information on Knox’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
