The City of Bremerton Parks & Recreation Department is announcing that Kitsap Lake will be closed to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th for the 2018 Armed Forces Regatta. This race, sponsored by the Seattle Outboard Association, is part of the Annual Armed Forces Festival and the association’s annual event on Kitsap Lake.The regatta will feature outboard powered hydroplane and runabout races. The boats range in size from 8-14 feet in length with drivers ranging from juniors, beginning at 9 years of age, all the way up to seniors. Seattle Outboard Association members who have gone on to become professional unlimited hydroplane drivers include Chip Hanauer and Nate Brown.This event is free to the public.Kitsap Lake Park will be available for spectator parking.
