SR 303 Corridor Study

Study Progress and Schedule
The City has engaged Parametrix Inc. to undertake the study; they began gathering existing conditions data, such as traffic counts and signal operations data in May 2019. Additionally, the study management team, in coordination with the Mayor’s office, is establishing a Stakeholders Advisory Group (SAG). The group, representative of and selected from the large pool of groups, people, and agencies that have a stake in the SR 303 corridor, will provide guidance and oversight for the study and study management team. Materials available to the SAG will be posted to the project webpage, and the public is encouraged to comment on those materials (see SR 303 Corridor Study Comment Form). The first SAG meeting will be held in late June; additional information regarding the agenda of that meeting, along with the final SAG member list will be posted on the project webpage once details have been finalized.

Input is being gathered from stakeholders and the public regarding the problems facing the Warren/Wheaton corridor, and the unique needs of our community that must be taken into account as we plan solutions for those problems. An initial public survey regarding the corridor was taken last summer, and the City received over 150 responses. In early June an outreach program will begin with study staff engaging directly with corridor users; following that effort an in person and online open house. The purpose of the open houses, to be held in July, will be to get feedback from the public about the problems facing SR 303, and to gather ideas on how to improve the corridor.
