Project Update (May 31, 2023)
The City, through a public and competitive process, has selected Parametrix Inc. to perform engineering and design services for the 6th St Pavement Preservation Phase III Project. The contract amount is $426,237.00.
The City have mailed notices to property owners along the corridor twice (10/24/22 and 4/10/23) requesting coordination of property development and notifying them of upcoming construction in 2024.
Project Status
The City has been offered a United States Surface Transportation Program (STP) Grant through the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) to construct a grind and overlay of 6th Street between Naval Avenue and Warrent Avenue. The grant amount is $1,772,838 and requires a City match of $397,162. The project also includes reconstruction of non-compliant ADA curb ramps and signal replacement. Total project cost is $2,170,000. Total City cost is $397,162.
Project Overview
Pavement preservation of 6th Street between Naval Avenue and Warren Avenue. The grant funded work includes grinding and overlay, pavement markings, signs, and other street related improvements.
