2026 Sewer Rehabilitation

Project Overview

The work to be completed includes rehabilitating approximately 5,600 lineal feet of sanitary sewer and storm sewer using the cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) method.  The sewer and storm pipelines identified for the 2026 CIPP project were established through video inspection during the 2025 CIPP project and City crew inspections.  The CIPP lining extends the life of sewer and storm drain lines by about 50 years at a fraction of the cost of replacing these pipelines.  The end result is increased reliability of underground sewers and storm lines, reduced infiltration and inflow to the treatment plant, and reduced cost for wastewater treatment and repair of underground facilities.

Project locations include E 33rd St, Perry Ave, Highland Ave, Charleston Blvd, and others. The pipe sizes vary from 8-inches to 24-inches.  The pipe is generally 60 or more years old.  This project also includes cleaning and video inspection of approximately 18,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer and storm sewer pipe on Wheaton Way,  E16th St, Vandalia Ave, and others.  See the City's 2026 Construction Map for locations. Construction will begin construction in May 2026 with anticipated completion in mid-September 2026.
