Municipal Court


Effective immediately the courthouse is fully open and operational for public observations. Zoom use is for defendants who have not been ordered to appear in person. Attorneys appearing in the Bremerton Municipal court beginning January 1st, 2024, will need to appear in person or request within 24 hours of the hearing via motion to appear via zoom. All infractions cases on Thursday afternoons will remain as remote proceedings.

The Bremerton Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. Court sessions are open to the public. We welcome all to view our judicial system at work.
Bremerton Therapeutic Court

Types of Cases

The Municipal Court Judge is authorized by Washington State Statute to preside over the following types of cases occurring within city limits of Bremerton:

  • Misdemeanor criminal charges (domestic violence offenses, assault, theft, and drug offenses)
  • Misdemeanor criminal traffic offenses (driving under the influence, physical control, and reckless driving)
  • Gross misdemeanors
  • Non-traffic infractions
  • Parking infractions

Our Mission

The Bremerton Municipal Court aims to fully and fairly hear every individual who has business before the Municipal Court. Everyone appearing in court or in the Clerk's Office shall be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect. We are honored to serve the citizens of Bremerton and others who have court business here.

Having to appear in court for an infraction or citation can be stressful. It is our hope that we can provide some information here that will be of help in guiding you through the process and take some of the mystery out of the procedures.
