Online Permitting & Inspection

Due to the increased volume of permit applications and the increased amount of development within the City Limits our workload has significantly increased. We do not have a definite time frame of when the permits will be ready for issuance. Plans are reviewed in the order they are received and the plans examiners are reviewing as quickly as they can. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

The DCD Online Center provides public access to apply for a permit, check the current status of applications, and request inspections.

To apply only you must register on the online portal before you have access to your permits or inspections.

Below is more information regarding online access, however, during front counter closures due to COVID-19, the City will only be accepting online permit submittals and online payment during this time. Please see the following for additional information on how to apply:

Experiencing difficulties? Please call DCD's main line at 360-473-5275 or email DCDPermits@ci.bremerton.wa.us

Please note, the below instructions pertain to the DCD Online Center website. Click here to visit the DCD Online Center.

Initial Registration

On the home page of the DCD Online Center, click "Sign Up". On the next page, enter your email address and a password that is at least 8 characters long; re-enter the same password in the next box.

If you already have an issued permit, you can enter the Access Code in the next box. The access code is located on your permit in the right hand column, on the same line as your name. If you don't have a permit yet, don't put anything in the Access Code field. Click "Next".

On the next page, enter your name, address and phone number. Click "Next".

Review your information. Click the "Edit" button if you need to change something. Click the "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" box and click "Create my Account".

The system will send a verification message to the email address you listed on the first page. Click "Verify"; you are now registered and will be returned to the home page of the portal.

Signing In

Once you have registered, you can access the portal by clicking on "Log In" at the top of the DCD Online Center home page. Enter your email address and password and click "Log In".

If you didn't add an access code when you registered, you need to do so now. Click on the arrow next to your user name at the top of the page and choose "My Account". On the next page, click "Access Code" and enter your access code (from the front page of one of your permits). Click "Submit". The system will send a message that says "Access Code Accepted". Click on "Home" at the top of the page. Click "Go" in the Permitting box.

Inspection Requests

To schedule an inspection, click "Request" in the My Inspections box. Click on the down arrow in the Permit box and select the permit you want to schedule an inspection for. Click the down arrow on the Inspection Type box and choose the type of inspection. In the Requested For box, choose the date you want the inspection. NOTE: The "Requested For" box defaults to TOMORROW; you cannot schedule an inspection for TODAY. If you want to choose a different day, click on the calendar on the right side of the box and choose a date. Skip the "Requested for Time Slot" box, as we don't schedule inspection times. In the Comments Box, you can add information that you want the inspector to know, such as your cell phone number. The permit information shows on the next page and a note appears that says "Your inspection was requested". You will also get an email.

If you need to cancel this inspection, scroll down the page and click on the red "Cancel" button next to the inspection you scheduled.

You can also view the inspection schedule by clicking on the Inspection Schedule box at the bottom of the page.

Permit Status

To track the status of your pending permits or inspection results, click "View" on the My Permits box. All of the permits that are currently in review, issued, finalized or expired will be listed. Click on any permit number to view the details. In the Inspections block, you can see the status of inspections.

Apply for Permit

Fire sprinkler, fire alarm and limited residential mechanical/plumbing permit applications can be submitted by clicking the "Apply for Permit" box; other permit types will be added in the future.
