Beautify Bremerton canceled due to impacts of COVID-19
Beautify Bremerton, a City of Bremerton organized event, has been canceled this year due to the impacts of COVID-19. The one-day event, which takes place in September, has been providing free drop-off and disposal of yard waste to residents and landlords within city limits. The City has also worked with several groups who do cleanups in neighborhoods and other areas as part of the day.
“After careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to cancel Beautify Bremerton for 2020,” said Mayor Greg Wheeler. “Our highest priority is to maintain essential operations for residents across the City of Bremerton, and to keep City services up and running. Unfortunately, this means we are not able to reassign critical resources to organizing and managing Beautify Bremerton this year. I know it’s disappointing for participants, and I look forward to resuming this special event next September.”
Beautify Bremerton has been held annually since 2011. Most recently, the yard waste drop-off site was located at Bremerton School District’s Knight’s Field (formerly Legion Field).
City of Bremerton staff are currently notifying people that have expressed an interest that the 2020 Beautify Bremerton has been canceled.
