Lieutenant Ryan Heffernan has been with the Bremerton Police Department for 16-years, serving in various roles during that time. Ryan worked as a detective with the Department’s Special Operations Group before being promoted to sergeant. His first assignment as sergeant was with third watch before supervising the Special Operations Group and General Investigations Unit. In January of 2022, Ryan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the Support Services Division.
Prior to his law enforcement career, Ryan served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska. He grew up in Virginia, received his Bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College and Law Degree from Rutgers. In his spare time, Ryan is an avid cyclist and recently completed the grueling Leadville 100 MTB race.
