Reservations for Bremerton Park Shelters, Athletic Fields Resume on April 5 With Health Guidelines in Place for Users

Effective Monday, April 5, reservations for park shelters and athletic fields in the City of Bremerton will resume under Phase 3 of the state’s COVID-19 recovery plan. The “Healthy Washington – Roadmap to Recovery” plan allows participation in outdoor recreation involving 50 or fewer people outside a household with safety guidelines in place.

All current guidelines for outdoor gatherings and outdoor sports must be met including:

  • Limiting gatherings to 50 people or less. (Park shelter capacity is limited to 50 people.)
  • Social distancing of 6 feet is required if not in the same household.
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times if social distancing cannot be maintained by those who are not from the same household.
  • Athletic field use is authorized only to groups with an approved field reservation and must meet all current phase requirements

“Our parks offer exceptional opportunities for people to enjoy healthy activities outside as the weather gets nicer. However, we must not let our guard down. While there is positive news about vaccines, it’s important to continue to practice health and safety guidelines like wearing masks and physical distancing until more vaccines are available to meet the demand,” said Mayor Wheeler. “While using our local parks during this time, please remember to follow health practices and take personal responsibility for you, your loved ones and the health of other visitors.”

For information on reservations, contact the Parks and Recreation office at 360-473-5305 or parks@ci.bremerton.wa.us.
