Mayor Greg Wheeler Selects Andrew Kehm for the 2022 Mayor’s Youth Leadership Award
Mayor Greg Wheeler is proud to announce the selection of Andrew Kehm as the recipient of the 2022 Mayor’s Youth Leadership Award and a $500 scholarship.
Kehm attends Bremerton High School (BHS) and plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a career in the field of mathematics. He would like to eventually earn his PhD to teach at the university level. Kehm has been extensively involved in many leadership opportunities at BHS, serving as ASB student president and as vice president of the BHS chapter of the National Honor Society. He is also involved in the BHS Model UN and serves as vice president. In addition, he was the co-founder and co-leader of Project Motivate, a student club dedicated to helping students find success in motivation and goal-setting. He enjoys helping others and hopes to start a college scholarship program for Bremerton High School students in the future.
Kehm has received a number of awards and honors, including the AP Scholarship Award with Distinction, National Merit Commended Scholar, and several department awards for math, science and social studies. In addition, he has been recognized with the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. Kehm also has a passion for music, and has been involved in the BHS Jammin’ Club and in the community through the Kitsap Musicians Project.
